ASTORIA'S LGBT-FRIENDLY
ESTABLISHMENTS
Out Astoria hopes to
get LGBT friendly
businesses in Astoria to
advertise on our website, and we would be happy to link to you to help
generate traffic and new patrons. We want to know which
restaurants, bars, stores and establishments welcome LGBT people and
celebrate the diversity that is Astoria, as well as which places would
just as soon prefer we never patronize them. We hope to publicize
both. Ideally, we would like to see a sticker program that would
show the LGBT community that the business is a welcoming one and hope
to work with Assemblymember Michael Gianaris to bring back the Safe
Space program, where merchants place stickers to show where you can go
when in need of assistance.
We hope to use the
list of businesses that want to work with us to help
develop "Gay nights" at their establishments and find other
opportunities to work with them. We are open to suggestions!
